Causes & Solutions for Unstable Pressure of Hydraulic Press

Many customers have reported that four‑column hydraulic presses and frame‑type hydraulic presses exhibit fluctuating pressure and failure to reach the set pressure during production. Common causes and solutions are listed below:

Hydraulic oil issues: Deteriorated oil quality, excessive impurities in the oil, and insufficient oil volume. Regularly replace anti‑wear hydraulic oil, clean the fuel tank filter, and maintain the oil level within the standard range.

Aging and leakage of sealing parts: Wear of cylinder oil seals and pipeline joint sealing rings causes internal and external leakage. Inspect and replace sealing components one by one.

Hydraulic valve malfunctions: Stuck spools of relief valves and solenoid valves. Clean the valve body; replace the valve assembly directly in severe cases.

Air intake in the system: Air drawn into oil pipes leads to pressure fluctuation. Check the tightness of the oil suction pipeline and vent air from inside the hydraulic system.

⚠️ It is recommended to perform regular scheduled maintenance on equipment. Run the equipment under no‑load conditions for 5‑10 minutes before restarting after long‑term shutdown. Shut down the equipment immediately for troubleshooting if persistent pressure abnormalities occur to prevent damage to oil cylinders and molds.
